Sinopsis
Eleven postcards, cheaply printed and a century old, showing scenes at a school on the outskirts of Paris.
Who were you? And who was the one next to you? And the one just behind, peeping over your shoulder. Were you friends, or did you just end up together for the photograph, as you all came out of the classroom, chattering and giggling.
Finding these pictures, should we become archaeologists or dreamers? Do we ransack the past looking for your stories and then raiding them, or imagine new stories? Or is it not about stories. Do we just witness what’s there. Leave them be, to be what they were. Let them stare back at us.
JEANNE: a montage essay film reflecting on time, place, memory and imagination.
